I don’t normally even like dates, but the other flavors really complemented the dates. Warmer weather has meant more adventuring for us and I love having snacky things on hand for sporadic activities. :). I just saw the same question dated back to 2015. Also great fun for little ones to help roll up. I decided to add a few more things at the last minute: chopped walnuts, sea salt, a little ground flax seed and cinnamon. Simply put its just scrumptious & heavenly, just 9 made it to the fridge…as the rest were devoured in the process!! I only had 3/4 cups dates left, but I just added a little apple sauce at the end when it looked a bit dry and it came out great. And the recipe is pretty flexible, so if you have too many dates, add more oats to balance it out. I followed the recipe and while I had a tricky time getting all the bits out from the bottom of the blender, the result was delicious and quite filling. I used half peanut butter and half almond butter. We prefer medjool dates in all of them, but sometimes forget to specify. The second time I made them in the food processor using almond butter instead of peanut butter and thinly sliced almonds instead of rolled oats and they were also very delicious! So good!
